The Terranor Group enters the next strategic phase:
Professionalization on the Group Level and Strategy Refinement of the accelerated growth path.

Since its foundation in November 2020, the Terranor Group’s annual revenue has grown from ~101 Million EUR to ~300 Million EUR in 2024, and profitability has improved by ~12 Million EUR. Today, the Terranor Group is stronger than ever, and we continue this path with the utmost determination and ambition.

“First in Mind in Road Operations and Maintenance in the Nordics” is our uncontested vision. Our employees prove every day that we live up to this vision and our values of performance, competence, forward-thinking, and working together.

2 companies – Terranor AB and Terranor Oy – became 7: Terranor AB, Terranor Oy, Terranor Verte Oy, Terranor Infra AB, Terranor Signa AB, Terranor Norvia AB, Terranor A/S.

For four years, the Terranor Group has grown at a compound annual rate of more than 30%, significantly expanding its regional coverage and service offering. The business’s complexity has continuously grown with it.
And with that, it comes with great excitement and pride that I can announce the further professionalization of the Terranor Group with a more refined top management team:
Michael Berglin joins the Terranor Group as the new Group CEO. Michael has a proven track record in the Nordic construction industry and extensive experience as a COO and CEO. He will take over the strong development of the No. 1 Nordic Road Operations and Maintenance Company and even accelerate our path to conquering the entire Nordic market.

David Margula (Chairman of the Board): “With this addition and the handover of my CEO responsibility, I am highly excited to have more time as the Chairman, given the rising complexity of the Group structures, to focus more on the strategic development of our operating model, the tender strategy, and the corporate development.”

Inka Kontturi started as CFO of Terranor Group

Terranor AB, Terranor Oy, and Terranor A/S are happy to announce the first Terranor Group CFO: Inka Kontturi will take over the responsibility of the Finance departments of all Terranor entities effective 01.06.2024.

Inka joined Terranor Oy on 19.09.2022 at our Helsinki Headquarters. Since then, she has taken over the responsibility for Finance, HR, and IT in a standalone model. She has independently developed our reporting, auditing, tracking, compliance, and management infrastructure. During our journey together, she has continuously proven her remarkable drive to fight for and develop Terranor in and outside of Finland. Her end-to-end Finance knowledge will boost our overall Group capabilities to the next level.

Before joining Terranor, Inka worked in the construction and infra business for the past 14 years and in finance for 18 years in total. She has worked at Geobear AB and Eltel Networks Oy.

With this change, the Terranor Group takes the next step towards professionalization along with our vision of “First in Mind in Road Operations and Maintenance”. Since its foundation in November 2020, the Terranor Group has grown from two companies with ~101mn€ to six companies with ~240mn€ revenue in Denmark, Sweden, and Finland combined. The exceptional compound annual growth rates of ~30% p.a. require new methods, ambition, and support structures. With that step, we feel very well prepared for the challenges ahead and the rebound of the construction industry to exploit opportunities among all competitors the most.

Päivi Hakala joins us as the new Head of Finland for Terranor Oy and its subsidiaries

Päivi has a proven track record of excellence and performance in the construction, rail, and engineering industries. She has 20+ years of experience from leading Finnish companies: only after 8 years at YIT, Päivi was promoted to the first female Business Unit Director in company history. She further developed her strategic thinking and people leadership skills at Eltel Networks where she worked as Business Unit Director in various units for more than 9 years.

After a detour in smaller businesses as interim management and her previous stage at Despro Engineering, Päivi will now become a driving force of the Terranor Oy growth journey to become Finland’s no. 1 Road Operations and Maintenance provider.

During her career, Päivi developed strong skills in people leadership, strategy development and execution, merger and acquisition, restructuring, and transformations.

She will guide our vision ”First in Mind in Road Operations and Maintenance in the Nordics” for Finland with a strong focus on our values: Yhdessä, Osaava, Rohkea, Aito.

With our management team Inka Kontturi, Johanna Kärnä, Iisko Rossi, and Harri Valkeinen we will jointly accelerate our growth and profitability plans.
